Welcome to the all-new Yoto Club
Each month we pick two cards for your Club pack. They will always be new to Yoto and exclusive to Club members. These are the cards that will drop on your doormat if you don't make a change.
But if you'd like to choose something else, there are eight more carefully selected titles for you to make a swap.
You'll be able to make your swaps from October 20th, and cards will be sent out at the beginning of November.
Grandude’s Green Submarine
Paul McCartney (for ages 0-4)
To kick things off in style, this month we’ve got none other than the legendary Paul McCartney! Following the huge success of Hey, Grandude!, join the Chillers on their next adventure in Grandude’s Green Submarine, a magical undersea voyage to find Nandude! Full of nods to the Beatles and McCartney’s unique imagination and charm, this joyful tale is one to listen to again and again.
Disney/Pixar (for ages 5-12+)
For our second card this month we’re heading to the kitchen for a very different adventure, with Disney and Pixar’s beloved Ratatouille. Join Remy, everyone’s favourite culinary rat, in this junior novel retelling of a classic.
This month's swaps
If you don’t think those cards are quite the right fit, then you can swap them for any of these!
Brown Bear & Friends
For younger children we’ve got the timeless brilliance of Eric Carle and Bill Martin Jr.’s Brown Bear and Friends. These classic children’s stories are brought vividly to live in this audiobook read by Academy Award-winner Gwyneth Paltrow.
Or, for something a little more contemporary, there’s the wonderful Casper Babypants with a collection of his beautiful Singalong Songs, curated especially for Yoto and sure to have the whole family singing and dancing together.
For the curious and mischievous, we’ve got Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes - wickedly funny retellings of six of your favourite fairytales performed by Stephen Mangan, Tamsin Grieg and Miriam Margoyles. You should know - some tastes may have changed since these were written, so please be cautious if you’re not sure how suitable these are for your child.
The Human Body
Ladybird Audio Adventures
A safer (but no less fascinating) bet might be one of the Ladybird Audio Adventure series, where children can join intrepid adventurers Otto and Cassandra as they explore inside The Human Body. Full of everything children want to know about the body, this immersive journey is narrated by Ben Bailey Smith (aka Doc Brown, rapper, comedian and writer) and Sophie Aldred (best known for her role as Ace in Doctor Who).
Tom’s Midnight Garden
We’ve got older children covered too! If your child can’t get enough of a good story, we’ve picked out Tom’s Midnight Garden - a gorgeous, full-cast BBC dramatisation of Philippa Pearce’s beloved novel of time-slip adventures, magical gardens and clocks striking 13.
The Extraordinary Life of Mary Seacole
Puffin Extraordinary Lives
For the history fans out there, and those who love nothing more than learning about the world we live in, our final option this month is The Extraordinary Life of Mary Seacole - a bold biography of the pioneering British-Jamaican woman famed for her medical work in the Crimean war and beyond.
Bedtime Meditations for Kids
Dreams of the Ocean
If relaxation or sleep time are proving difficult, then you could try Bedtime Meditations for Kids - a collection of three meditations specifically created to help children sleep more soundly - or Lifescore Music’s Dreams of the Ocean - an immersive seascape of music and sounds designed to soothe and relax. Not just for bedtime, or little ones, they’re great for supporting relaxation and creating a calm atmosphere whenever you need it.
Make you card choices when the window opens on October 20th. Signed up members will receive an email with a link to make any swaps, and you'll have until the end of the month to make any swaps. Or do nothing to get the top two cards!
