Welcome to our blog. It's a bit like our secret diary. Except it's not that hard to find. And we want you to read it.
This month, we introduced some well-known characters to the Yoto gang, as well as more bouncing beats and even a trip through the solar system! We also included a head-scratching activity and a creative challenge, and we celebrated International Nurses Day to thank our nurses for all that they do.
Yoto announced today that it has raised $17 million in a Series A funding to help facilitate its rapid growth across Europe and North America. The investment was led by Acton Capital with participation from JamJar Investments, Global Founders Capital, Emerge Education, as well as MPL Ventures.
A collection of well-known Disney and Pixar stories will be launching on Yoto from May 2021 and throughout the year. Alongside licensing existing audio, they will also release brand new original content created by Yoto.
The chicks have hatched, the chocolate has been devoured, the eggs have all been hunted, and Spring has officially sprung! And with it, a brand new bundle of audio cards have been delivered to the homes of Yoto Club members in their April Club Packs - the perfect delivery to put some spring in your step this season!
Zanib Mian is a celebrated children’s author best known for the Planet Omar series. Having studied Molecular Cell Biology at University College London, Zanib taught Science in secondary schools before launching Sweet Apple Publishers. The independent publishing house is committed to publishing books that feature characters from backgrounds that are less often represented in childrens’ books.
A year ago today, we packaged up the first of our 2nd generation Yoto Players and sent them off to their new homes. Forgive us if we're a little nostalgic, but sometimes you need to look back to see how far you've come. We've taken lots of baby steps to make Yoto what it is today, and we're excited about what it will be tomorrow.
The crackers have been pulled, the resolutions have been made, and the first Yoto Club pack of 2021 has officially been delivered across the country to welcome in the New Year. While the year may be starting off with a bit of uncertainty, what we know for sure is that we’ll continue to deliver monthly audio delights to the doorsteps of our Yoto Club Members all year round!
The fields are frosty, the air is crisp, and our December Club Packs have been delivered across the country to kick start the festive fun. They may not have been posted down the chimney (Royal Mail have enough on their plate!) but they’re guaranteed to bring a bunch of yuletide joy to the whole family.
As we enter into the festive season, and into a second lockdown, it seems that this year’s Christmas celebrations are going to look a little different. Some of us may be far away from friends and family, and we might be feeling a little bit grouchy (or Grinch-y!). Pick up a ‘Make Your Own’ card, as we’ve got some fantastic ways to get the whole family celebrating Christmas!
Bedtime can be a tricky moment in any household. It's a nightly event where wills collide and even the most agreeable of children might unleash their wild side. When we designed Yoto Player, we knew it had to give parents more than a screen-free way to explore great kids' audio. That's why we gave it a nightlight and a clock, and have continued to add new features that support parents every day.
As we carry on celebrating kids' mindfulness content on Yoto, we spoke to the award winning author, father of three and mindfulness expert, Jaimal Yogis, about mindfulness during a pandemic; mindfulness for kids; and his new book "Mop Rides the Waves of Life".
As most of you know already, Yoto products are designed to get better over time. They run on an operating system (Yoto OS) which we can update remotely - a bit like your smartphone does. While our team of tech heroes are always tinkering away making improvements to the software that runs your Yoto Players, we do like to update you with major updates from time to time. So here it is!
Mindfulness is a fantastic way for kids to focus their minds and quieten their thoughts, giving them self-sufficient tools to manage the ups and downs of day-to-day life. But what is mindfulness, really? And how can you and your family begin to enjoy its benefits?
What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is giving something your full attention. It means calming the mind, resisting the urge to act, and taking a moment to pay attention. By doing so, you train your mind to observe without judgement and to take in stride the ups and downs of life.
