Tell us about yourself
I live in Idaho in the northwestern U. S., surrounded by wheat fields. I've long enjoyed the practice of writing and storytelling, and my favorite genre of literature (to read and write!) books for children and middle grade readers.
What inspired you to make this title(s)?
I wrote Island of Stars after spending many years reading aloud to my own children, primarily stories with old-fashioned adventure themes. We love these books as a family, and developing a story like this was a way to share what we most enjoy.

Who do you imagine listening to your audio?
I imagine the sort of reader who will enjoy Island of Stars is bright and inquisitive and enjoys thinking about the world as it could be, and not just as we are tempted to see it.
Is there anything different about making audio for Yoto listeners?
My own children love listening to their Yoto player. Upon writing Island of Stars, I could think of no greater privilege than having it made available through Yoto. My kids listen to Island of Stars on their Yoto! It's such a wonderful tool for parents and children alike.
What’s next?
I will likely always be writing. Another of my titles available is "A Light at the End of the Woods."
