How does the Yoto Top 40 work?

Every week, we bring together what families are buying, playing and coming back to. We combine recent card sales with listening data, repeat plays and whether a title is picking up momentum. That means the chart captures both new favourites having a moment and the cards that never seem to leave the player.

How often is the chart updated?

We update the Yoto Top 40 every Thursday at 12 midnight in your Yoto store’s local timezone.

Is the Yoto Top 40 the same in every country?

The Yoto Top 40 is tailored to your region, so the rankings and titles you see may look different to other Yoto stores. That way, each chart reflects what families in that part of the world are actually buying and listening to.

Why isn’t my child’s favourite card in the chart?

The chart balances recent sales, listening and repeat enjoyment, so a much-loved card will not always make the Top 40. Rankings can change from week to week as new favourites take off and families return to old ones.

A title may also be absent if it is not currently eligible or available from the Yoto store in your region.

Is my family’s listening data used to create the chart?

We use aggregated listening activity as one part of the ranking, alongside sales and recent momentum. The chart never shows or identifies an individual child or family. For additional privacy protection, listening figures representing fewer than 100 households are not used.

Are Make Your Own cards included?

No. Every Make Your Own card can contain different audio, so MYO cards cannot be ranked as a single title.

How are collections and card packs counted?

The chart ranks individual audio titles, not packs. When a collection is bought, each title in that collection receives the sales signal. This means a title can benefit from sales both as a standalone card and as part of a collection.
